How the scales have tipped
🇮🇳 How the scales have tipped - a snapshot of the shift in India’s international air traffic dynamics.
The numbers tell a compelling story of the transformation in India’s international air traffic landscape. Middle Eastern FSCs have encountered strong headwinds, with significant market share erosion. Leading the declines are Oman Air (-1.6 ppt, -39.5%) and Saudia (-0.7 ppt, -21.9%), followed by Emirates (-1.3 ppt, -4.8%) and Qatar Airways (-0.2 ppt, -4.4%). Etihad, notably, was the only exception.
In contrast, Middle Eastern LCCs have bucked the trend:
•Air Arabia AUH (+1.4 ppt) has emerged as a strong performer.
•Flynas (+0.7 ppt) has made notable gains, capitalizing on opportunities where Saudia/ Indian carriers have lost ground/ vacated.
•Jazeera (+0.4 ppt) has partially filled the void left by Kuwait Airways
•Flydubai remains relatively stagnant.
Indian carriers, however, have been the real winners in this evolving dynamic, led by IndiGo (+8.4 ppt, +112.1%).
