It's raining planes in Saudi Arabia! 🇸🇦✈️
This edition of "Aviation in Saudi: Past, Present, and Future" provides an overview of KSA's fleet, and the timing couldn't be better.
Flynas just announced the largest order in Saudi aviation history (in AC number terms) at the Farnborough Airshow, hours ago.
KSA's fleet is set to nearly triple from the current ~250 aircraft to over 750, possibly before the end of the decade, adding impetus to Vision 2030. This number would certainly be even higher with Riyadh Air yet to reveal its narrow-body orders and second widebody campaign. Flyadeal has also expressed intentions to order widebody aircraft soon.
Imagine how this tripling of the fleet, along with the ongoing infrastructure development, will catalyze the growth of the Saudi aviation sector. It will expand connectivity and propel traffic from 112 million in 2023 towards the current target of 330 million by 2030.
Below is a snapshot of the current fleet and orders.
P.S. If any of you who follow OEM order books deciphered Riyadh Air's choice of NB aircraft, comment below! It’s quite obvious.
