It's good to see Thiruvananthapuram (TRV) back on Riyadh's (RUH) route map since September, after a gap of 5 years. With connecting flights to RUH taking anywhere from 8 to 15 hours, this direct connection is a significant convenience boost for the Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia and a positive stride in the Kingdom's goal to expand connectivity.

In 2023, RUH-TRV was ranked among the top 10 city pairs with indirect traffic flows in the APAC region, according to the Saudi Tourism Authority. Their estimates indicated a bidirectional traffic of around 50,000 pax last year. Given this demand, I hope there will be an upward revision in the frequency.
